2024 Meeting of the Society for Philosophy of Religion

Dear Colleagues of the SPR:

I write to solicit papers for the 2024 meeting of the Society for the Philosophy of Religion.  The deadline for receiving submissions is 1 October 2023.

Please submit your paper via email to tlytle@piedmont.edu.

To be considered, your paper ought to be prepared for blind review.  Make sure that the paper you submit can be read within the 40-minute time limit.  Also note that we expect the paper read at the meeting not to deviate from the paper that is accepted.  If you wish to propose a panel discussion, please send a proposal explaining the topic, with the names of the persons who have agreed to participate on the panel if it is selected for the program.

If you would be willing to serve as a commentator or a session chair, please send me an e-mail indicating your interest.

Note that in recent years we have chosen to bypass some of our program guidelines in the interests of recruitment and of a stimulating program.  So, first, we will consider submissions from nonmembers for a limited number of slots on the program.  If you know of someone who is not a member, whom you’d like to recruit, encourage the person to submit a paper.

Second, if you have a paper you’d like to submit, but you read a paper last year or you are a member of the Executive Committee, you may go ahead and submit.  Priority will be given to those who don’t fall in these categories, but the final decision will depend on the number and quality of the papers we receive.

The 2024 annual meeting is now set for the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort, 7-9 March 2024.
